DEOMEL SORIANO, NP
Deomel is a licensed and board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in San Diego, CA. He has worked as a Mental Health Associate, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Registered Nurse and now as a Nurse Practitioner. Having witnessed and experienced healthcare at different levels, Deomel is further motivated to treat individuals. He truly believes that each patient is unique and has different needs; therefore, the services they receive should be tailored to each individual. With proper treatment, people suffering from mental illness can live a normal life.
Deomel's focus is treating mental illness impairing and negatively affecting people’s lives. He specializes in diagnosis and treatment of mood disorders (depression, bipolar disorder), anxiety disorders, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, alcohol/drug abuse, and schizophrenia.
LAUREN PRASEK, NP
Lauren uses an integrative and holistic approach to treating the mind and body. Through the synthesis of medication management, lifestyle modification, mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), nutritional needs, general health and mind/body practices she strives to treat the whole person and maintain wellness.
Lauren is board certified to treat children, adolescents and adults of all ages and has experience working with a variety of cultural backgrounds. Her work as an NP spans diverse settings including community mental health crisis programs, outpatient, inpatient and emergency psychiatric work. Lauren has trained and worked at the Edward Hines VA Hospital, Northwestern Memorial in Chicago, IL and the Resnik Neuropsychiatric Institute at UCLA Ronald Reagan. Lauren's publications and primary area of research sheds light on the experience and unique needs of those in psychiatric crisis. She is trained and certified in trauma-sensitive yoga, serves as an Expert Practice Consultant for the state of California and is a recognized peer reviewer for the Elsevier Research Academy.
Esther Samadi, MD
Dr. Samadi is double Board-certified in general and child/adolescent psychiatry. She specializes in diagnosing and treating a broad range of psychiatric disorders from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) to depression/anxiety to autism spectrum disorder.
After receiving her medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), she completed her general psychiatry residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center where she was chief resident. She continued her fellowship training at UCLA in child and adolescent psychiatry, serving as the program’s chief fellow.
During her training, Dr. Samadi was selected by the American Psychiatric Association/Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration as a minority fellow. She focused on reducing stigma and improving access to mental health services for Asian-Americans by providing educational tools and identifying barriers to care within the community. She has presented at various national conferences and authored a monthly mental health column in KoreAm magazine.
Dr. Samadi worked at Family Health Centers of San Diego, providing mental health services to underserved children, adolescents and adults. She has a diverse training background and is committed to providing high-quality, personalized care to her patients.
